Take A Cooking Class In Chiang Mai, Thailand
Are you planning to travel to Thailand? Be sure to take a cooking class!
While I was in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I took a cooking class with Classic Home Cooking School. I really enjoyed the class and the proprietress Vanee and her husband Meo were really lovely. I picked their cooking school because they offered a 4-hour evening class which worked with my schedule while I was in Chiang Mai.

Vanee picked me up via tuk-tuk at my hotel because their car was full. She was very motherly and sweet and held my hand to cross the street (too cute!!). Vanee and Meo took us to a local market to buy the ingredients for our cooking class. She taught us how to pick produce and walked us through the market. Then we headed to their home which housed their cooking school.

The class was pretty fairly simple. We prepped the ingredients and then followed Vanee’s instructions per dish. We were allowed to choose 4 dishes each to learn. Everyone in my class (I was a 5th wheel with 2 other couples, haha) tried to choose a different dish so we could all share and learn from each other since it was a small class.
Prepping ingredients and making curry!
We had chosen green curry, red curry, massaman curry, penang curry, pad thai, egg rolls, mango sticky rice, and a couple other things I can’t remember now. When we were done cooking, we all ate together as a group and ate our dinner family style. It was really tasty and tasted as good if not better than some of the Thai restaurants back at home. If there was one dish I wasn’t that into, it was my pad Thai. It didn’t taste the same as the ones I had ordered in Thailand.
At the end of class, we were given a recipe book with a lot of recipes. I think with all of these recipes we could open a Thai restaurant in our respective home countries. Joking!
If you are looking for a cooking class in Chiang Mai, I definitely recommend Classic Home Cooking School. I love Vanee and Meo!
