Cape Kiwanda | An Awesome Day Trip From Portland
Heading to Portland? Add a day trip to Cape Kiwanda to your plans!
If you’re planning on visiting Portland and have a day to spare, take a day trip to the coast. It’s absolutely stunning and one of my favourite places to visit in America. There are a load of options within 2 hours driving distance to the coast but I’m definitely a fan of Cape Kiwanda. I went there for the first time last fall and I fell in love.
Just two hours from Portland is the Three Capes Scenic Drive which is a 40-mile drive along the Oregon Coast that takes you through Cape Meares State Park, Cape Lookout State Park and Cape Kiwanda Natural State Area. I’ve been passing through these parts for years but last year was the first time I visited any of them. My friends and I did a day trip to Cape Kiwanda, which is located in Pacific City, with my friends Meg and Kelly who had just moved to Portland. We had an epic day of exploring, shooting photos, and stopping for some craft beer. It was really fun and I would love to do it again but next time stay overnight. After we went over to Cape Lookout but we didn’t make it to Cape Mears. Definitely, something to add to my to do list!!
