Capilano Suspension Bridge | An Iconic Vancouver Attraction

Cliff Walk Vancouver BC

Planning a trip to Vancouver? Visit The Capilano Suspension Bridge!

One of Vancouver’s most popular attractions is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Capilano is not for the faint of heart or those who afraid of heights. But if you love a good photo opportunity and being in nature, a visit is a must!

TRIP PLANNING STARTS HERE

HELPFUL GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Flights: Find a cheap flight using Skyscanner or Momondo. I like these two booking sites because they both search all websites and airlines around the globe including budget airlines.
  • Accommodations: I use Booking.com or Tripadvisor to find the best rates on hotels. Hotels.com offers a free night after booking 10 nights.
  • Get up to $40 off your first Air Bnb stay by using this code!
  • Travel Insurance: Having gotten sick on my travels in the past, I never travel without being insured. You never know when something may happen. For my round the world trip and extended long-term travel, I use World Nomads. For other trips, I have used Roam Right and they cover activities like extreme sports.

Treetops Adventures, which were added in 2004,  is seven suspension bridges attached to 200 plus-year-old Douglas fir trees. Here you are taken up 110 from the ground to give you a different aspect and view of the park. The platforms are attached in a way that they can adjust with growth and no damage is done to the trees.

Cliffwalk is the latest addition, added in 2011. They are walkways that are attached to granite cliffs that give you views of the park that were previously unseen.

Some find it the park to be touristy but as Vancouver local (at heart), I always make time to visit. There’s something special about the place and everyone who visits loves it. My family and I came here on Christmas Eve a few years ago and it was so beautiful lit up at night.

It can get quite busy so getting a solo shot in the bridge is something you’d have to do when the park opens. (I have yet to get that shot!)
