Deep Cove: A Vancouver Area Gem And Perfect Day Trip
Love the outdoors and Vancouver bound? Add Deep Cove to your plans!
One place I never make enough time to visit when I come home to Vancouver is a neighbourhood called Deep Cove. It’s located on the east side of North Vancouver. It’s at the foot of Mount Seymour along Indian Arm (part of the Burrard Inlet) and insanely beautiful. It is easy to get to if you have a car but it is possible to take a bus too, it just takes a while.

- I also heard the Arms Reach Bistro is pretty good but I have yet to go there myself!

HELPFUL GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS
- Flights: Find a cheap flight using Skyscanner or Momondo. I like these two booking sites because they both search all websites and airlines around the globe including budget airlines.
- Accommodations: I use Booking.com or Tripadvisor to find the best rates on hotels. Hotels.com offers a free night after booking 10 nights.
- Get up to $40 off your first Air Bnb stay by using this code!
- Travel Insurance: Having gotten sick on my travels in the past, I never travel without being insured. You never know when something may happen. For my round the world trip and extended long-term travel, I use World Nomads. For other trips, I have used Roam Right and they cover activities like extreme sports.
When I visit it’s usually to hike part of the Baden-Powell trail up to Quarry Rock. If you love beautiful scenery and enjoy hiking, this is a must do! If you start your hike from the parking lot, it’s quite easy. Don’t think that I am some sort of athletic machine, it’s just walking! Besides the hike, there are a couple of cute shops on Gallant Avenue and of course a doughnut or two from Honey’s is vital. I usually have one after my hike as a reward.
