London Instagrams: Photos From My Round The World Trip
Today I’m flashing back with this post and sharing some of the London Instagrams from my old IG account. I hadn’t expected to stay so long in the Big Smoke but I stayed three weeks with friends who I had met while traveling in Asia. On my first weekend, our friend from Jersey (not New Jersey) flew in and we had a little Bali reunion.
London wasn’t as gray as I thought it was going to be. It was actually sunny many of the days but brisk since it was January. I went to a ton of museums (they are free) and just wandered around the city while my friends were at work or school. I didn’t fall in love with London but it is a cool city. Lots of great shops and lots of galleries and museums. I even had a Tube crush. What’s that? A handsome fellow who I had a staring match with on the Tube. No guts, no glory though! I didn’t approach him and vice versa. Oh well. He’ll be the well-dressed blond fellow in selvage jeans with Red Wing boots and a Carhartt jacket that got away (Dear tube crush if you’re reading this….message me, I’m single!).
If I were to go back to London, I’d like to go when the weather is warmer and I’d stay in Shoreditch/Hackney. I loved all the cafes, restaurants, and shops in that area. It’s a bit hipster but still a cool place. I even went to a gallery party thrown by Nike Skateboarding one night and it was super fun. There was wall to wall people in the gallery drinking beers and dancing to dancehall. Why does that not happen at home??
On my last day it snowed which was timely as I was heading back to Australia for summer. It was time for me to move on.
