Hotel Review: Magnolia Hotel And Spa In Victoria, Canada
Are you planning a trip to Victoria, Canada??
If you’re looking for accommodations for your Victoria trip, Magnolia Hotel is a great hotel located close to the Inner Harbour. In 2014, I stayed here but never shared my experience. I thought it was about time I share this great gem of a hotel on my blog!
While I was exploring Vancouver Island, I went to Victoria for a few days. Magnolia Hotel was my base. I had a suite on the 7th floor, which is the top floor of the hotel. In my suite, I had a fireplace, a desk, a spacious bathroom with a tub, and a flat screen tv with tons of channels. As a freelancer, I always work on the road, so having my own dedicated Wi-Fi line for my room was amazing. Yes! Each suite has its own private wi-fi connection. Another lovely touch was when I came back to my room after being out all day, the room had been turned down and some chocolate was left on my bed.
If you’re one of those travellers who like to exercise on the road there is a small but efficient gym in the hotel. There is also a complimentary infrared sauna. I wasn’t able to use it but I love infrared saunas.
For dining options, within the hotel is Catalano Restaurant & Cicchetti Bar, a Mediterranean eatery on the ground floor. If they still have their Sardinian stew, order that!! It’s amazing.
The Magnolia Hotel is a perfect base in Victoria. Location-wise, it’s close to great coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and tourist sites. It’s the perfect Victoria boutique hotel.

HELPFUL GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS
- Flights: Find a cheap flight using Skyscanner or Momondo. I like these two booking sites because they both search all websites and airlines around the globe including budget airlines.
- Accommodations: I use Booking.com or Tripadvisor to find the best rates on hotels. Hotels.com offers a free night after booking 10 nights
- Get up to $40 off your first Air Bnb stay by using this code!
- Travel Insurance: Having gotten sick on my travels in the past, I never travel without being insured. You never know when something may happen. For my round the world trip and extended long-term travel, I use World Nomads. For other trips, I have used Roam Right and they cover activities like extreme sports.
