Exploring Street Art In Melbourne, Australia
One thing that I loved about my time down in Australia was discovering the Melbourne street art scene. People either love street art or they don’t. I’m a big fan but also grew up guys who always had Krylon in their back pockets. For these guys and girls, the streets just happened to be their canvas.
During my round the world trip, I went to Melbourne twice. The first time, I was surprised to see how much street art there was around the city. Riding the train into the city from my cousin’s house in the suburbs, I remember not seeing one wall along the train line that wasn’t covered. Laneway or alleys were all covered in street art. Even well-known artists such as Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader, and more have travelled to Melbourne to put up their own art.
One night my cousins took me out for dinner at Revolver in the Prahran area of Melbourne. They had some Banksy art on the walls covered under plexiglass. While I didn’t explore as much as I wanted to, I would love to go back to Melbourne and shoot some more.
Here are some Melbourne street art photos from the laneways that I took:

These photos were taken in and around Hosier Lane which is close to Flinders Street Station, which is a big train station in the center of the city. Here’s a Google map:
