Painted Boat Resort Spa: Relaxation Time On The Sunshine Coast

Spa Garden
Planning a trip to the Sunshine Coast of BC?

While I was on the Sunshine Coast and staying in Madeira Park, I booked an appointment to have a massage at the Painted Boat Resort Spa. All the stresses of life had been building up on my shoulders and upper back and I thought I would splurge and treat myself while I was on my solo getaway to the coast.

What I didn’t know about the Painted  Boat Spa that it has a tranquil area called the “Spa Garden” which is complimentary with any treatment over $70 or $40 for the day without any services. This “Spa Garden” is a hydrotherapy area outside but connected to the spa that is surrounded by evergreen trees. There is a sauna, an outdoor glacial rain shower, a multi-jet hot pool with a massaging waterfall, a warm salt water float pool, and an outdoor fire pit. There are a handful of seats and loungers in the Spa Garden where you can relax and read a paper or magazines or just zone out. And if you call ahead, you can have a bento box lunch prepared for your visit also.

HELPFUL GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Flights: Find a cheap flight using Skyscanner or Momondo. I like these two booking sites because they both search all websites and airlines around the globe including budget airlines.
  • Accommodations: I use Booking.com or Tripadvisor to find the best rates on hotels. Hotels.com offers a free night after booking 10 nights.
  • Travel Insurance: Having gotten sick on my travels in the past, I never travel without being insured. You never know when something may happen. For my round the world trip and extended long-term travel, I use World Nomads. For other trips, I have used Roam Right and they cover activities like extreme sports.
  • Get up to $40 off your first Air Bnb stay by using this code!

The Painted Boat Resort Spa offers facials, massages, wraps, manicures, and pedicures. I booked myself a deep tissue massage and my therapist let me know that steam showers are included free with a massage as well. She then gave me a complimentary mud mask to apply and wear during my steam. I just kept hitting the jackpot at the Painted Resort Spa!

After my massage, I went back to the Spa Garden to enjoy more hydrotherapy time. It’s such a great way to unwind and I felt so relaxed and refreshed after my visit.

**Disclosure: Many thanks to the Painted Boat Resort. The Spa Garden, bento box lunch, mud mask and steam room were complimentary but I paid for my deep tissue massage. As always, opinions are my own**
