State Street Farmers Market In Carlsbad California
If you have visited my blog before, you may know I love markets of all kind. Flea markets, food markets, and most of all farmers markets. Strangely, I have not written much about San Diego, where I reside for most of the year. But that is changing and I am trying to add more helpful content for travellers who visit the area. So I thought I would start and write about the State Street Farmers Market. It’s my local farmers market which is every Wednesday afternoon in Carlsbad, in northern San Diego. You may find me here picking up my favourite items from local vendors and farmers.

HELPFUL GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS
- Flights: Find a cheap flight using Skyscanner or Momondo. I like these two booking sites because they both search all websites and airlines around the globe including budget airlines.
- Accommodations: I use Booking.com or Tripadvisor to find the best rates on hotels. Hotels.com offers a free night after booking 10 nights.
- Get up to $40 off your first Air Bnb stay by using this code!
- Travel Insurance: Having gotten sick on my travels in the past, I never travel without being insured. You never know when something may happen. For my round the world trip and extended long-term travel, I use World Nomads. For other trips, I have used Roam Right and they cover activities like extreme sports.

My favourite State Street Farmers Market Vendors
Some of my favourite things to pick up here are bread from Prager Brothers Artisanal Bread. They have a local bakery but it’s more convenient coming here since State Street Farmers Market is only three minutes away from where I live. There’s an ice pop stand called Cabetos that I love. They have a mini and regular size pops so when I’m hankering for something sweet, I grab a mini. There’s also great stand that sells succulents and herbs for the garden where I buy starters for the garden. There’s a tea shop from Oceanside called The Loose Leaf that sells their loose teas.
Yum Cabetos Pops!
The market is not very big or overwhelming which I prefer. A quick stroll through is how I first make my way through the market. Of course, sampling the tasty things and scanning what is available for sale. Then I make my purchases and am on my way.
There is always free parking available on the streets adjacent or in a lot on Roosevelt. If you’re looking for a fun family-friendly activity to do in Carlsbad on a Wednesday, head over to the State Street Farmers Market.
