Visiting The West End Farmers Market In Vancouver
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to experience summer in Vancouver, so it’s nice to be around when there are markets selling the fruit and vegetables that are abundant in this area. Last weekend I popped by the Vancouver West End Farmers Market on Comox Street right by Nelson Park in the downtown area of Vancouver. The market is on Saturdays until October and runs from 9 am to 2 pm. There were farmers selling vegetables, fruits, there were baked goods, seafood, meat, cheese, and some food trucks. You can even drop off food scraps to compost if you don’t compost at home. I also went to visit my a friend who sells her artwork at the market.
I love farmers markets. It’s the one thing I love to do when I travel. I’ve been to farmers markets in Hawaii, New York City, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto and all over California. I am also fond of food markets like La Boqueria in Barcelona and Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne where you can buy produce, meats as well as cooked food to eat. Tell me about a market and I’ll be there!!!
Here’s what I perused at the West End Farmers Market, but for more about the different farmer’s markets around Vancouver, click here.
